Auralith, the Labradorite Dragon
Auralith, the Labradorite Dragon
Auralith was sculpted from English Porcelain clay in my studio, slowly dried over the course of 2-3 months under plastic and bisque fired to 2,400 degrees Fahrenheit in the kiln. The bisqued sculpture was finished with a trio of celadon glazes, glaze fired, painted with Mother of Pearl Luster and fired for a third and final time in the kiln. The finished sculpture is set in a foundation of pigmented resin for stability.
This one-of-a-kind piece measures approximately 19"x19"x16".
Auralith’s Story
Auralith, the Labradorite Dragon, is a dragon born of light caught in stone. Her body shimmers with an aqua celadon finish, veiled in the iridescence of mother of pearl luster that shifts like water under moonlight. Her sweeping horns arc skyward in luminous pearl, echoing the elegance of a spiral shell, while three labradorite stones embedded in her brow glow with spectral fire, like fragments of the aurora sealed in crystal.
Labradorite, often called the stone of transformation, embodies mystery and unseen power, qualities mirrored in Auralith herself. She is a guardian of thresholds, where darkness breaks into light, where the ordinary fractures into the extraordinary. Her surface invites the eye to move, to search, to find new colors with every angle, reminding us that beauty is never fixed but always in motion.
Standing before Auralith, one senses both serenity and awe, a creature as fluid as water, as strong as stone, as radiant as the northern lights. She is not simply a dragon of earth or sky, but of transformation itself, carrying the eternal truth that within shadow lies brilliance, waiting to be revealed.
